Elegant center-room desk produced around the mid-19th century in the Veneto region of Italy.
The desk is paneled in walnut and is supported by two elephant’s tusk-shaped supports resting on a stand joined by a turned crosspiece.
The desk top has been garnished on three sides with a delicate fretwork frieze.
The front is divided into a series of three drawers, the largest of which is divided internally by several compartments.
The frame of the desk is made of solid cherry wood.
After careful restoration, shellac polishing has given new life to this eclectic writing desk.
